The Turkish bath is a threshold of thousands of years that brings together Rome's hot-water tradition with the idea of purification. From the cold room to the warm room, from the warm room to the steam of the heated marble · each step calmer than the last.
A threshold of thousands of years
Rome's thermae tradition continued through the Byzantine and Ottoman eras and became today's Turkish bath. The hamam is not only washing; with traditions such as the bridal bath and the postpartum bath, it is a culture of gathering and rest.
The sections of the bath
A traditional bath has three sections: the changing room (cool); the warm room (a gradual transition); and the hot room (harare · where the heated marble stands, hot and humid). The body's slow adjustment to the heat is the basis of the ritual.
The scrub and the foam
The traditional flow goes like this: 5-10 minutes in the warm room, 15-20 minutes reclining on the heated marble, then the scrub and a foam massage; rest at the end. The scrub renews the skin, and the heat and steam are good for relaxing the muscles. At Allia this ritual lasts 40-60 minutes.
Guests with a health condition are advised to consult our therapist before hamam and heat treatments.
